This project is a flagship store in New York for Ngali, a women’s clothing brand, which is a celebration of Australian Indigenous creativity through fashion where fabric is the medium of their art. Inspired by this, the store is treated as a canvas for Indigenous art. Ngali’s print is projected onto the interiors of the store, creating an experiential appreciation for Australian Indigenous art that allows the visitor to walk through the art, look at it in the space, and wear it later. The first floor is a gallery with the clothes being the art pieces on display, and the retail space is below.
