The upstairs living space has been transformed into a light, transparent, pavilion-like structure flooded with natural light and fresh air, oriented to connect with the garden at the back of the house and allowing views of the sea.

The home is located on Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard offering panoramic ocean views on one side of the house and mountain views on the other, with it being at the foot of Lion's Head and one of the World's Seven Wonders of Nature, Table Mountain. The designers focused on reimagining the space by retaining the home’s existing footprint while remodelling the envelope and interior to create an open-plan design. The approach incorporated a blend of function and aesthetics, utilising natural materials and creating a flowing structure that harmonises with the surroundings.
