Future Simple Studio’s latest project, Even, is a minimalist roastery/cafe in Montreal. Unlike most cafés, Even’s warm atmosphere champions human connections over productivity. With its calming brown hues and raw, earthy materials, the space is designed to enhance the ritual of coffee. Visitors enter through a curved threshold in natural cork, framed by a mesh curtain that separates the café from the outside. Inside, an angled concrete bar invites fluid movement and interaction. Beyond, a translucent glass partition reveals glimpses of the roasting process within.
