This micro-apartment in Bavaria, Germany, shows how thoughtful design can transform compact spaces into functional, stylish, and sustainable homes. Originally a 31 m² studio in a 1970s high-rise, it was fully reimagined into a two-room apartment that balances comfort, efficiency and aesthetics. Subtly tilted built-ins optimize flow and create multifunctional zones without feeling cramped. Mostly second-hand, restored furnishings, lighting and appliances emphasize sustainability. A new windowfront floods the space with light, while a bedroom curtain offers a cocoon-like retreat, when desired.
