VdK cooperative, building affordable housing since 1948, needed to renovate its inefficient office in a 1954 apartment unit. The client wanted a beautiful, modern interior. Studio Alexander Fehre developed a functional, aesthetically pleasing concept. The building structure was completely gutted, with statics proving the biggest challenge, while the rest was gently modernized. The result is an efficient, contemporary workspace for the ten-member team that marks a fresh start. The project successfully transformed the outdated office while respecting the cooperative's long-standing mission.
