Commissioned by a company rooted in a 100-year-old kawara tile business, this project creates a low-temperature bathing facility that uses kawara’s radiant heat to gently warm the body’s core and support well-being. The central fixture, inspired by traditional Japanese roof curves, is clad with hand-fired tiles applied one by one. Natural materials that age over time weave layers of time into the space. Designed from material properties and craftsmanship, the space embodies the philosophy of KŌGEI, expressing harmony between humans and nature.
