Set within the forests of Karuizawa, this project explores architecture as a device that modulates the relationship between human and nature. Developed over nearly a decade through collaboration between client, builder, and architect, it forms part of a dispersed landscape with dog-friendly facilities, open lawns, and training spaces. Rather than dissolving the boundary between inside and outside, the project carefully controls it, allowing the forest to pass visually through the building while maintaining a sense of enclosure.
